8 May "Youth on the move" video now available!

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to share with you the new “Youth on the move” video available to National Societies to promote World Red Cross Red Crescent Day in the lead-up to and during 8 May. Set to high-energy music and produced in four languages, the video features young Red Cross Red Crescent volunteers around the world making a difference in their communities and leading positive change. National Societies with access to an editing suite can customize the video by adding their logo at the end. The 60 second video can be downloaded in high resolution from cumulus. It is also available on YouTube at:

#RCRCDay

If your National Society and youth members plan to tweet about 8 May, we encourage you to use the hashtag #RCRCDay so we can harmonize our Movement messaging worldwide. We have also created a list of suggested tweets, based on this year’s theme and calls to action. If your National Society has a Facebook page, we encourage you to post the Facebook Timeline “Youth on the move” photos to your page. We also invite your young volunteers to do the same.

RedTalk

On 8 May, a special RedTalk will be open to audiences worldwide via a live, online web stream. We invite you and your youth to gather together to view the event, pose questions via the online moderator and engage in local dialogue around the timely topic: Global challenges and opportunities to real youth leadership. The RedTalk will feature young panellists from within and outside the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement, as well as a lively question and answer session. More information about this session will be provided soon. To view previous RedTalks, visit http://www.ifrc.org/en/get-involved/learning/red-talk/.

We look forward to celebrating 8 May World Red Cross Red Crescent Day together in a few short weeks!
